Mobile applications: What is the age of mobile-ready to surprise us with?

A recent survey by SurveyMonkey pointed to a long-noticeable jump in the popularity of mobile applications in comparison with familiar websites. Stunning 962.5% - this is the result of the transformation of 8 billion invested in the industry into 77 billion. With a high probability, by the end of 2020, this figure will exceed 100+ billion. Already, iTunes and the Google Play Store are offering us to install 4.3 million applications, and this is not the limit - the number of mobile clients continues to grow exponentially.

The Tesla Model 3 is just a Car which is Good News for EV Industry

A few days ago, there was a MarketWatch article published that summarized the difficulties Tesla's competitors are having going electric. The article goes through a litany of companies in electric vehicle manufacturing having difficulty catching up to Tesla. Some of the companies include Volkswagen, Jaguar, Dyson (yes that Dyson), GM, Porche, Toyota, Kia, China's Nio, etc. The article even includes mention of Harley-Davidson briefly halting production of its LiveWire electric motorcycle due to charging issues via low-voltage home outlets.

How Employers Should Respond to Workplace Injuries

Workplace injuries are bound to happen from time to time, even in the most controlled of circumstances. The problem caused by these injuries can be seen from many different perspectives, yet, it always ends up unfavorably for the employee. First of all, it causes physical harm that’s hard to compensate materially, it may prevent one from performing their duties, which further puts one in a bad spot. Finally, it may cause some emotional trauma, which shouldn’t be downplayed in significance. Nevertheless, the repercussions for an employer may be quite bad, as well.

Divided we fall

Social media is the perfect platform for turning important discussions into shallow memes. A place where we all live in echo chambers, the cliquiest of all cliques.

In November 2017 Sean Parker, co-founder of Facebook, admitted:

...we need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while. It's a social-validation feedback loop...exactly the kind of thing that a hacker like myself would come up with, because you're exploiting a vulnerability in human psychology

Fifty-Two Posts: Alone Time

My son had a out of town hockey tournament this weekend which resulted in my family leaving me home alone. In the past 48 hours, I've been the only human being in my house. My only duty this weekend was to take care of our dog Jasmine and the two cats, Oreo and Maya. What a wonderful gift I received in this opportunity to be alone and to be just me without interruption.

Fifty-Two Posts: Skip Resolutions, Find Direction Instead

This year, I’m not making any New Year’s resolutions. Every year I promised myself to lose weight, bicycle more, and be happy. Every year, I fail miserably. What good is a resolution if at the end of the year I’m standing exactly where I started? But let’s say I did achieve all my New Year’s resolutions. How much alone do accomplishing these resolutions bring value to a person’s life?

Earl Breon: The Power of a Fresh Perspective

Ladies and gentlemen, let me paint a picture for you. The year is 1983 and you are a super fit, well geared, and highly trained ultra-marathon runner. You are getting ready for a 544 mile race from Sydney to Melbourne, Australia. You are mulling about with your peers, rubbing elbows with everybody who you know is at least as prepared as you are. You see an array of high end athletic brands on display. It is a stereotypical marathon.

But then you start to hear some murmuring. “He’s how old?” Your interest is piqued. “He’s wearing what?” Okay, now you have to see what the commotion is about.

Why Google News and Weather is One of the Best Apps Today?

If you are looking for the best way to get news updates and alerts straight to your mobile devices, there are ample apps for you. Android and iOS have some pretty good dedicated news applications that do their job well. Most of these, however, contain news from single sources, i.e., whatever is published by the app’s parent organization. However, on an application like Google News and Weather, you can read news from thousands of different sources.
